Welcome to the Hampshire Hogs website.

PRESIDENT’S LUNCH AND HOG WEEK

Those who study the fixture card or the dates given below will notice that this year the Hogs vs President’s XI and, therefore, the President’s Lunch will not take place on the Friday of Hog Week. Instead, the fixture has been held back by a fortnight to Friday 28th August, at the start of the Bank Holiday weekend.

This is a trial, agreed at the AGM, to combine a number of advantages from a date when more Hogs and Junior Hogs will have returned from holiday. The President’s Lunch should benefit, as should the Junior Hog Jump Up, which uses the lunch tent, so too the Hoggets for their end-of-season match and barbeque on the Bank Holiday Monday.

If the experiment is a success, we may try to move the traditional Hog Week fixtures to the later date and attract more Junior Hogs for these important matches. The Committee hopes that increased support at all these activities will ensure the change is a success.
